Keg at the Three Johns, Islington, 12/09/18. Pale golden blonde with a decent off white cap. Nose is grass, cereals, straw, pale malts, grains. Taste comprises corn husk, cereals, toasted grains, faint lime, straw, light breads. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent for the style.

I like it. So I looked up that this is made with Sterling hops, I was thinking Saaz all the way, but Sterling is very similar to Saaz, so hey, not bad. Anyway, I love the hops in this, a touch catty and spicy. Malts are clean, balanced between sweet and dry, a touch of grain flavor. Top notch pale lager.

Corn and grass nose. Clear yellow, medium head. Corn and barley. Light body, moderate carbonation. Respectable.

Typical beer/malt aroma. Pours clear amber with a fair amount of carbonation. Tastes like a souped up corona, good mouthfeel. Palate consists of cloves and spices accenting the taste. Good take on a cerveza.

12oz bottle. Sierra gets in on the Mexican lager trend a year late. Yellow- tan body, quick fading head. A little lighter malt time than I would have expected, a pinch more hops. Sort of drinks like a Mexican Lager meets an IPL. Clean, drinkable, refreshing.

Bottle from the mixed twelve pack from Hannaford. Brilliantly clear light gold in color with a bubbly white head that persists. Rich bready crackery pilsner maltiness with faint earthy floral hops. Supper light and easy to drink maybe a bit of sulfur when first opened.

12 ounce bottle from a mix pack. Clear golden, thin fizzy head that quickly fades. Aroma of pale malt, grass, and a bit of toast. Taste is grassy hops, Noble hops, pale malt. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. Good, and doesn't really come across as a Mexican lager.

Nothing great, but also incredibly drinkable, a respectable nod towards no-frills nostalgic beer-drinkin' without sacrificing actual layers of flavor. Lemon and apple lager notes, white bread yeastiness throughout, and a mild corn-dusted sweetness accented by cracker malt and a grassy/floral hop bitterness on the back end. Won't make converts to or from craft beer, but a nice hey-I-don't-have-to-think-about-this-too-much pint. Could see this actually selling rather well as its own six-pack. Corn-n-cracker nose on top of a straw-gold pint with not nearly enough head or lacing. Light, crisp texture is right for the style. I'll take it.

12 oz bottle from the Party Pack. Aroma is dough, grain, corn, spicy. Pours clear pale golden with a long-lasting one inch white head that laces. Taste is lightly sweet, moderately bitter (actually highly bitter for this style), with flavors of herbal hops, hints of sweet corn, grain. Not thin and watery like your average Mexican lager. It actually has a really nice body with great carbonation. If they were going for a Corona or Pacifico clone, they failed utterly. More like a modern craft pilsner, which is definitely okay with me. Really tasty. Edit: the other two beers I drank from the pack didn't seem nearly as interesting, with nearly no hop bitterness or character, and much more in line with a plain pale lager. Not sure why that first one tasted so good. I'm dropping the score from 4.0 to 3.8.
