On tap at Watering Hole. Clear golden color with a nice soapy white head. Aromas of wasabi, earth, grass and gobo (burdock root). Really deep earthy smell with this one. Quite peppery but refreshing with the gobo really standing out as it warms up. The wasabi is there but not overly assertive. Nice peppery finish that lingers.

5% Ordered direct from a brewery & served in a tumbler. It pours a mellow opaque honey gold with a flavorful nose: earthy sharp wasabi, lime, pepper. It kind of burns my nostrils a bit breathing this in. Lively sharp carbonation. Whoa, picture one of those over-the-top chili beers where they swap in wasabi & dial it back a bit, well maybe not the more you drink the more the wasabi builds up. Earthy wasabi burn is the flavor, this is definitely one of the more extreme beers to come out of Japan. If you don’t like wasabi like myself it is a bit too full on(3.2 out of 5) but if you like wasabi you’ll love this beer(anywhere from 3.6 to 3.9 I’d guess). Geez, it is tough to finish, I should have paired it with sushi... saved! My wife pulled some sushi out of the fridge and it paired really well with it making it easier for me to finish off my glass.
