Another huge IPA knocking you out with a four-hop blend of Chinook, Simcoe, Amarillo, and Crystal hops. This imperial IPA clocks in at 100 IBUs and 11% ABV, making it just a bit bigger than our unsessionable, and certainly the kind of beer that you'll need just one of. Toasted malt flavors lurking behind massive levels of hop bitterness and flavor with a punch of of hop aroma reminiscent of fresh citrus rind.

On draught at Bob’s Bar. Clear bronze color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of dank hops, tropical fruit and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of resiny hops, citrus and grainy malt. The finish is fruity with a dank hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Really good hoppy stuff which is what I come to expect from Revolution. Aroma’s thick and heavy with lots of caramel malt and hops. Flavors like nose, sweet up from but that doesn’t last long and soon it’s dominated by the hoppy bitterness. Body is good and has a long bitter finish. Very drinkable and no or very little sign of the alcohol.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/18/2016. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy orange/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Awesome appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, apricot, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, apricot, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/herbal/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, apricot, lemon/orange rind, pine, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance; and some light lingering hop astringency appearing near the end of the glass; but not unpleasant levels. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, fairly creamy, and slightly slick balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is fairly well hidden with a light-moderate warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very good DIPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth to drink for the ABV and strong bitterness. A very enjoyable offering.

Tap at Watering Hole for anniversary. Big boozy nose with orange marmalade and toasted caramel. Hot alcohol and sweet caramel and marmalade again on the palate. Sweet and boozy finish. A mess really.

Pours deep gold into a tulip. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Sweet caramel and resin aromas. Thick with hot caramel, dark pit fruit upfront quickly turning to dank hot resin in the lasting bitter finish.

Can from craft beer cellar Westford. Slightly hazy deep golden color with a bubbly white head that dissipates almost instantly. Caramel and syrupy fruit on the nose with bits of earthy citrusy hops and a solid hit of ethanol. Syrupy sweet maltiness with plenty of citrus and pine to counter as well as a solid lingering burn of alcohol. 1 is definitely enough I will never buy this again. Its not horrible, but honestly their are much better ipa’s out there.

Draft: Poured a golden color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention. Aroma of citrusy hops with some piney notes and bitter notes is enjoyable. Taste is a mix between some citrusy notes with some piney hops notes and some bitterness with a solid malt backbone with some residual sugar notes. Body is full for style with good carbonation. You can tell this one packs quite the IBU’s and that balance or attenuation was not of the criteria for brewing this beer.

A golden DIPA with a thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with balanced floral hops, light, light mineral notes, light mint. In mouth, a nice sweet biscuit malt with loads of citrusy floral hops, mandarin pulp, light tropical fruits, very nice. On tap at Birreria Chicago location.
