Beck’s Dark is rich and smooth with a lingering, slightly sweet aftertaste. The deep ebony color is the result of specially roasting the barley malt. Unlike dark ales, Beck’s Dark is a bottom-fermented lager which creates a robust flavor and full body while retaining the refreshing properties of a lager beer.

Bottle. I believe I just had this beer with St. Pauli Dark. Skunky smell. Slight malt with a little toast in the aroma. Nice head and color. Kind of an deep amber brown. Taste is skunky too. Not one of my best experiences with a dark beer.

This pours a dark brown amber with a 2 finger head of off white foam.
The smell is typical for the style. Some weak notes of malt a touch of bitterness.
The taste follows the nose. Some noticeable hop bitterness up front with a weak, somewhat grainy malt presence. It's a bit too bitter for the amount of malt that hits my palate and overall, this one does not strike my fancy at all. One purchase is enough.

Backlog. Pretty straightforward and mild dunkel. Easy drinking without any fuss and with a clean finish. Don’t mind this and honestly prefer it to the regular Becks.

Not a ton going on here but it’s drinkable at least, and a little better than regular becks. Dark brown pour with ok head. Light tangy finish. Not offensive, just boring. Bottle at press club.

Starts nice, but the sweet rich taste dulls and flattens as the bottle progresses. Hints of roasted malts. Mediocre.

Cola-colored pour with a tan head. Sweet aroma, candied vegetables of some kind. Lightly sweet malt flavor, no real hops anywhere.

Some modest head and a darker copper body. Soft barley aroma with hints of coffee and barnyard. Flavour is brown sugar with a watery finish. Very blah, very Beck’s.
