Beck’s Dark is rich and smooth with a lingering, slightly sweet aftertaste. The deep ebony color is the result of specially roasting the barley malt. Unlike dark ales, Beck’s Dark is a bottom-fermented lager which creates a robust flavor and full body while retaining the refreshing properties of a lager beer.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. 6/5/10. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a medium sized offwhite head that fades fairly quickly. Decent lacing. The aroma is strongly skunky with faint notes of dark malts, raisins and coffee. The taste is skunk, cherries, raisins, some toffeeish malts and a grassy hay-like finish. Thin bodied. There’s a decent beer here behind the skunk.

Bottle sample during a beer festival at Sar HaMashka’ot. Clear pale brown color. Aroma of malt, light toastiness and metallic hints. Flavor is a bit toasty with some malt, caramel, and a herbal-metallic bitter finish. Rather light-bodied.

24Oz. bottle, big off white head, clear brown with lots of very deep red taints, aroma of caramel with herbal hops, flavour of honey and caramel with strong hoppy bitterness, short bittersour aftertaste. A light and uncomplicated brew but a very satisfying one.

This Dunkle poured a black colour with a nice big, foamy, light tan coloured head. Scents include raisens and dough. First sip is very watery with flavours of raisens and malt. Finish is slightly sweet with a small bitter finish. This beer looks alot better than it tastes, but what do you expect from corporate muck?

Bottle. Poured Coca cola brown with a thin fast dissipating beige head. No lacing. Medium malty aroma with a bit of grass. Rather flat taste with a bit of roast and a bit of chocolate. Rather thin finish. Not a disaster this is cheap and on a hot day quaffable.

Overall Impression: This is not the most exciting beer in the world. These guys and Heiny are like the BMC of Europe, you can find them everywhere, lots of people drink their products, but you can’t really figure out why. Toned down flavors for the masses, Euro style! Light and boring brown colored brew.

Pours cola colored into a stein. Off-white head recedes to skim surface. Slight skunk and metal. Lasting dusty cocoa finish.

Sehr milder Antrunk, röstig. Im Mittelteil aromatischer werdend, ebenso im Abgang. Trotz der Intensitätssteigerung wirkt das Bier etwas langweilig und vor allem austauschbar. Test vom 23.9.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 10,8,9,8,-,8 - 8,36
