Beck’s Dark is rich and smooth with a lingering, slightly sweet aftertaste. The deep ebony color is the result of specially roasting the barley malt. Unlike dark ales, Beck’s Dark is a bottom-fermented lager which creates a robust flavor and full body while retaining the refreshing properties of a lager beer.

12 oz. bottle. Aroma is of dark roasted malt, but it seems to have grassy hop as well. Very dark mahogany color with a white head that filmed immediately. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Seems to be flavors of dark caramel and grassy hop. The finish is primarily light hop bitter. Sort of a thin, dark, roasted lager. Sort of dunkel light.

Beef, grain, and skunk aroma. Cola colored with a thin bubbly head. Wheat toast flavor, with a complimenting skunkiness. Vanilla and plum finish and some hops. Thin mouthfeel.

Well, this is not a twist off, ouch! 12 oz bottle with a gold foil brazier. I recognize this as one of my better pre rater beers. Pop the lid, after I find and opener, and get a slight veggie cabbage aroma. Wow, once poured it has an aroma of no other. It is almost like licorice or anisette or something. Tannish ring for a bantam head. That smell is really something! First flavor hints are definitely what I would refer to as ‘dark’. Flavor is not hoppy by any means. It has a laid back roastyness that imparts a distinct dark flavor without a medicinal quality. Nice gentle finish and a decent amount of carbonation. No terrible linger with the last drink. This is a benefit if you don’t care for bitter beers.

Bottle. Brown sugar malt aroma with metallic aroma coming out more as it warms. Cloudy medium brown with small head. Brown sugar and malt flavor with metaliic taste and moderate hops finish. Metallic taste messes this beer up - otherwise would have been decent.

Pours a nice medium brown with a small tan head. The aroma doesn’t match the color - grain and sours. Taste is more of a malt and hops duet. No dominate flavor or intensity whatsoever. Pretty boring overall.

Bottle. I found this to be a lot better than regular Becks. Eh, not a very strong malt taste, but pretty sweet.
