Taster at Liquor Express. Pours a clear, ruby color, with a small, beige head. The nose is mild cocoa, pecan, orange peel, and caramel. Sweet and malty, with a light, musty bitterness. Light to medium body, sticky, and crisp. Pretty nice.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a deep brown with a finger of off-white head that lingers then dissipates. Light coffee malt aromas with cinnamon along with some cacao nib notes. More cinnamon on the palate with dark cacao nib. Very dry and almost astringent. Don't get any vanilla. Just dry, dry cacao nib, twigs and cinnamon. Too dry and needs some sweetness to balance out the astringency.

A little too much going on with this beast. Spices are beyond prominent, overpowering the beer and fighting each other for dominance. Vanilla hits the hardest, combining with the cocoa nibs to give a milk chocolate backbone, but they come on too strong. And once the cinnamon strikes...just makes it all too busy.
