pFriem’s Oude Kriek is made by adding lush, juicy cherries grown right up the road, to our year-old Lambic-inspired ale and letting them get to know each other for another ten months. Judging from the aromas of fruity, nuttiness and bright flavors of cherry pie and berries with a dry, tangy finish, they’re a perfect match.

On tap at pFriem - Milwaukie. Pours a murky deep red with a pink head. Rich, fruity cherries, some cinnamon cherry pit character, and earthy yeast on the nose. Flavour has a nice, juicy cherry character, gentle tannins, light to moderate tartness, and an earthy yeast character. Not really a proper lambic, but a great cherry wild ale.

a: perfectly clear deep ruby coloured body | no head, movement or carbonation at all, despite nice seal on caged/corked bottle!
a: funky (duh!) | cedar notes | foul feet (like my feel smelt like after 26.2miles yesterday in the USMC Marathon 2025
f: soured | raspberries | hibiscus tea
t: lactobilly funk | woodsie | dry throughout (naturally)
o: complex from the wood | sour cherries (yes...) | less impressive than I was expecting/hoping for, but decent at least, just not good/great..even after all these years!
375 mL caged/corked bottle | Bottle Craft (store): San Diego (Little Italy), California | 31-January-2020 at the start of 'covid' when idiots were wearing masks on the flights | US$14,99 | 2019 vintage (on bottle label) | sampled: 27-October-2025, in celebration after running the 2025 USMC Marathon with my wife - congrats to her!

375 c&c from Tavour. Pours clear cherry red with a decent pink head that departed quickly. Aroma of tart cherry. Med body. Flavor is lightly tart cherry with definite oak notes to include some astringency. Quite dry. Tart but very approachable.

Rød farge med rosa skum. Lukter gjær, trevirke, kirsebær. Medium sur. Kirsebær, sure bær. God og frisk med og akkurat passe med bobler🙂. Flasket i 2019. Synd jeg bare har 1.

Bottle, 375ml corked. It pours a hazy pinkish orange colored beer with a small white head. Funky aroma, leather, barnyard, lemon, horseblanket hints, with cherry and a touch of wood. Some wet wool. It's medium to full-bodied, dry and tart, with a decent carbonation. Funky flavor too, with a nice cherry touch. Some hints of almond, but mostly it's funk. Leather, barnyard, horseblanket and lemon. Lasting finish. A nice one indeed. 210502
