Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear, deep gold with a finger of foam that lingers then settles to a ring. Resinous, pine-forward nose with toasted caramel aromas. More pine and resin on the palate with a strong bitter piney note. Maybe some coffee in here, but not really finding it. Quite bitter on the palate with a lingering piney bitter, roasty caramel finish. Expected more coffee...maybe the draft was better than the can? --- Beer merged from original tick of Hutton And Smith Igneous Coffee Ipa on 07 Jul 2018 at 13:33 - Score: 6. Pretty great coffee IPA, with lovely citrus and pine notes backed up by grainy, caramel-laced malt and a healthy roasted cold press backbone. Coffee acidity adds a modest berry brightness and a lengthy java bitterness. Pours a gorgeous brownish gold with a massive white head and tons of lace. Grapefruit and pine nose has a noticeable coffee slant. Man, this pint emptied way too quickly. Nice beer.
