The hidden soul of this oak bourbon barrel-aged beer that we said Dosvidanya (’goodbye’) to several months before revealing, is its rich flavors like dark chocolate, toffee, black cherries and coffee along with robust & roasty maltiness that finishes dry.

Bottle. What a tasty beer. Dark like coffee. Aroma is burnt grains and coffee. Taste is mocha, roasted grains and dark toast.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. At 14.6% abv. Aroma is chocolate, bourbon, roasted malt, soy sauce, touch of vanilla, oak, molasses. Flavour is medium sweet with a mildly boozy finish. Full body. Great.

More of a traditional BBA stout smell. Just bottom, not much malt or anything else. Just different. Again, black, thin foam from can pour. Taste is more of a familiar Bourbon County Stout, perhaps a little thicker in mouthfeel. After all the cool tastes of the SMores, this is kind of a return to normalcy. Kind of a standard in this style.

Bourbon and roast. Coffee, a hint of cinnamon, toffee. Oily consistency. Black oily pour with great initial cascading mocha head. Not a ton on of retention there, no real lacing. Boozy bittersweet finish. Can.

Black body, medium dissipating light brown head. Heavy, inky nose with chocolate, coffee bean, roast, vanilla, and oak. Body intense, sweet, dense with molasses and burnt sugars, prune, cocoa syrup, vanilla, and oak. Boozy with lingering bitterness. Layered, complex, and substantial.

Can at home. Opaque black color, medium sized brown colored head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, liquor. Flavor is malts, medium roast, dark malts, bourbon. Body is medium, carbonation is average, texture is oily. Pleasant.

Refrigerated 0.5 L brown 2018 bottle poured into a snifter. Black with small light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, thick body, medium carbonation, and thin small-bubble lacing. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, bourbon, oak, some booze, and dryer finish.
