Alpaïde is een donkere tripel vol pit en traditie. Het is genoemd naar gravin Alpaïdis, grondlegster van het bierdorp Hoegaarden. Het bier heeft zijn smaak te danken enkel aan de variëteit donkere mouten en Poperingse hop. Deze gebrande mouten geven een koffie en chocolade parfum en een volmondige bittere lange afdronk. Het bier balanceert tussen een stout en een trappist.

Bouteille 33cl. Présente une belle couleur cuivrée allant sur une note bordeaux, col épais beige. Bouquet fruité allant vers la prune, figue, date, sucre candi le tout ayant ce nez de fruits fermentés. Une bière agréable dans le style d’abbaye. Mélange un très bon profile malté, grillé donnant aussi des notes de café et torréfier avec des notes de fruits, prune et figue. Une très belle surprise.

Recht süßer Antrunk, in dem nach kurzer Zeit eine herbe sowie eine alkoholische Note auftreten. Im Mittelteil sehr würzig, der Alkohol hat sich aber nicht ganz gewandelt und ist so mit einer scharfen Note noch länger erkennbar. Deutlich schokoladig, intensiv röstig, zudem ist eine süßliche Kaffeenote vorhanden. Im weiteren Verlauf verschwinden Süße und Alkohol in einer sich steigernden Würzigkeit, die auch einige wenige Kräutertöne beinhaltet. Stimmiges Bierfür einen dunklen Winterabend! Recommendation of Charles at Demervallei, thanks! Dark brown, thick beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, milk chocolate. Tastes of burnt espresso, bitter cocoa, with a smoky finish. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty spicy caramel aroma. Sweetish roasted malty spicy caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty spicy yeasty finish with hints of caramel in the aftertaste.

Brown with a lasting light brown head. Aroma of caramel, milk chocolate and butter, with plenty alcohol showing. Dry chocolate and alcohol flavour.

Draught@One Pint Pub. Dark nutty brown color, small creamy beige head. Sweet dish cleanser aroma plus some caramel and cocoa. Some caramel, alcohol, grassy hops, cocoa. Quite flat. Simple although unique barley wine.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a bit of sediment floating around under a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, over ripe fruits, and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and light noter notes of coffee and fruit, leading to a dry finish where the coffee note lingers.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, mahogany colour with a big and beige foamy head. Sweet and strong malty aroma with toasted elements, caramel and sugar beet. Sweet flavour with a tinge of roasty bitterness, full bodied with a calm carbonation. Thick malt-accented and moderately roasted taste, slightly earthy with notes of caramel and traces of licorice; sweet and moderately roasted, slightly molassy finish with obvious notzes of alcohol and a tinge of marzipan. Bottle, 9.5%. OK malty aroma, hint of marcipan. Dark brown colour, some floating yeast. The flavour is quite roasted, a little alcoholic, with some yeast. The mouthfeel is also yeasty.
