From tap at De Prael Groningen. Roasty aroma with dark malt, some liquorice, bit burnt/ashy, caramel. Pretty sweet with a roasty bitterness. Medium body. Not very Imperial, but okay Stout.

*rating overgezet* Het is een diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier. Het heeft een gebrande koffie achtige geur. De smaak is gebrande mout, chocolade, koffie en drop.

33cl bottle from Brouwerij de Prael in Amsterdam. F: big, tanned, good retention. C: dark, opaque. A: dark malts, bit chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, bit lactic, bit spicy. T: full malty base, roasted tones, dark malts, bit chocolate, coffee, spicy, dry on the palate, dark caramel, dark bread crust, long lasting decent bitterness, soft carbonation, not very complex yet nice at least, enjoyed.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Coffee, malt and caramel in the aroma. Hint of laurel. Malty sweet, caramelly flavor with soft tart notes. Coffee, raisin. Low on carbon. Just a good RIS.

These guys generally make really good beer, but this isn't their best effort for a style that's easy to make incredibly strong a flavourful. Just weak all around for an RIS. De prael Amsterdam

Draught in Ahrendsnest. Jet black with a large head. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavour is chocolate, milk coffee, sweet with a bit of licorice. No real hint of alcohol.
