A beast of a beer unlike any other Payette brew. Aged in 10 year old bourbon barrels in honor of our 10th anniversary. Wildly robust recipe with rich oak, vanilla, and bourbon notes, heat from the alcohol, and toffee flavors.

Bottle, thanks to Iphonephan. Opened after keeping for a year in my cellar. Poured opaque dark brown with very small frothy tan head, like a thin ring, light mocha aroma, low carbonation, mildly sweet mocha-coffee taste, full body, long mocha finish. Very string and satisfying.

Refrigerated brown bomber from buckeye boy poured into a snifter. Black with small beige head. Aroma is chocolate, medium/thick body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is chocolate, whiskey, and some wood. Nice beer.

2014 Bottle: Deep dark brown coloured body with a slighlty thin lighter brown tint with a little, feather of a tan head on top. Aroma of roasted malts, anise, light funk, some good smoke and pork flavours near the end along with a touch of bacon, smoke, spice and a good deal of malt. Full-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavour with some smoked peat, a ton of caramel, bunches of molasses and pure caramelised sugars - quite potent throughout, yet the ABV comes off as pungent and only the sweetness comes through in the basement and musty notes that show towards the end. Aftertaste shows a nice and balanced beer with a lot of roasted malt, some grainy and more earthy flavours and ending with a pleasant sweetness with the prunes, raisins and figs that you'd expect from the style. Overall, an imperial stout that seems to have aged quite nicely and sampled while it was still cold outside. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 10-March-2015 for US$14,55 sampled at home in Washington on the eve of a Spring snowstorm on 20-March-2018, just after three years of aging this one myself (plus it's a 2014 Vintage).
