Keg at Six Deg N Aberdeen. It pours cloudy orange with a medium white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, honeyed fruits, pear, apple, pepper, ginger, fruit pie, cereal and toasty grain. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, spicy, cereal, straw, stone fruits, guava, papaya, apple, pear and some alcohol with a dry, sort of spicy finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Perhaps a bit too spicy, which stops the fruits shining through, but good fun nonetheless.

Hazy orange beer, foamy white head. Aroma is rich, bready and fruity. The blend of main flavours is done really well without overpowering the classic, yeasty, bready saison flavour. Good clean taste, crisp and sweet up front but it has a nice dry aftertaste which makes it very drinkable. At the strength you could do yourself a lot of damage. Really nice.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Murky bronze body with a thick off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma of guava and honey. Flavour of white sugar and stewed pear. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Interesting and different. It’s nice to see Fallen brew a range of unusual recipes, but I’d like to see them do more classic styles really well, to add to their excellent core range.
