Bottle from beerhive. Nose is cherry, chocolate, molasses, some iron. Palate is chocolate with cherry undertones, bitter bread, smokey finish. Just a bit too bitter for me.

Keg at The Campervan Brewery in the company of Craig, Stella, Nick and Anna, Saturday 10th February 2018 Black with a light tan head. Soft in the mouth, there is a little smokiness (Loz is correct) some sweet cherry. I really quite like this it's a good beer. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.7

Bottle from Cork & Cock. It pours jet black with a small beige head. The aroma is rich ripe cherry vibes, jammy, cherry pie, toasty, oily, black forest gateaux, roasted malt and a touch of coffee. The taste is slick, dry, bitter - sweet, oily, rich roasted malt, earthy roast, coffee, ripe cherry, cherry jam, cacao, charred wood, chewy malt with a toasty finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Well - rounded and flavoursome. Nice stuff.

On cask at the Campervan Tap Room. Appearance - deep brown to black. Nice fawn head that hangs around. Nose - chocolate, toffee, marzipan. Cherry stone. Taste - more cherry stone and creamy chocolate. Nuts and toffee. Palate - medium bodied and creamy. Dry crunchy yet still creamy finish. Overall - lovely. It was definitely better on cask than in the bottle or keg versions.

Cask and several bottles. Black body with a tan head that slowly fades. Faint lacing. Aroma of red fruit, advent calendar chocolate, rye and Marmite. Flavour of tart cherry, dark chocolate, candy and wood. Medium body with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. A rich, well balanced beer. I didn’t get any vanilla, which I think is a good thing as I hate when it dominates a beer. This pips Mutiny On The Bounty as my favourite Campervan beer so far.
