Subtlety. That's what makes Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts – and just a kiss of bittering hops – to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Tap @ Peoria grill, Denver. Pours amber with a small white head. Aroma of malt, nuts and grassy hops. Taste is much like aroma with some added nuts and sweetness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Drinkable but nothing special. 180211

Philly beer distro Sampler Case: Pours a standard amber look. Pretty much nothing remarkable about this beer. There are hop notes, a good amount of malts. It is undoubtedly extremely smooth and very easy to drink. Of course it suffers from the amber fever, which means that it is generally a boring beer. In any case, I think that it is a little under-rated on this site, seeing as I had a good time drinking it.

Bottle. Deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma was malt, light hops, and something unpleasant, almost sulfur.. I’m not quite sure what it was, but it was not pleasant. Flavor was roasted malt, slight hops. Thin light body. Overall it was just kind of bland, watered down, and something a little wonky I was having difficulty pinning down.

Overall Impression: I like this brew, its a nice easy drink, refreshing one. Not something that will blow you away, but it works well for what it is trying to be.

bottle in mix 12 pack. Pours amber with off white head. Aroma is grainy, some pine hops. Taste is malty, light touch of nuts, light caramel with possible cocoa and a bitter chocolaty finish. A lot better than what the overall rating shows. Have yet to have anything by Breckenridhe that disappoints me.

Amberish/yellow head over foxy-amber beer. Lightly hoppy nose, and sweet cake, dried sultanas. Sweetish, malty, dry malts, falling flat afterwards. Pretty carbonated, medium body at best. Finely sourish finish (but is it intended?). Rather middle-of-the-road beer. Nothing bad, absolutely nothing special. Thanks, CK!

Aroma is salty, green onion, and mushroomy barley malt. Dingy dark gold pour with no head. Tinny and bitter, rather unpleasant. Tastes like a weak english bitter. The consolation is it might pair well with some foods.

12 oz. bottle. Strong roasted caramel aroma, but not a sweet aroma. Coppery amber color with a tan head that laced patchily while it filmed. Medium body with almost chewy carbonation. Flavor is a bit malty, and seems to have a touch of sour to go with very light bitter. The aroma changes with consumption - a bit reminiscent of a urinal? The finish calms down to a rather dry malt impression with not all that much bitter. A bit different from anything I’ve had before. Not bad, but not something demanding repetition.
