Poured up on tap at the Oceanside Stone tap room where it exhibits a deep brown to mahogany colored body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up nutty medium roast coffee and a bit of caramel and chocolate malts. The taste follows suit with fairly deep nutty to dark roastiness, a dash of spicy chai and chocolate malts. To midway caramel malts become noticed as well. Very nice robust brown ale.

(Tap) clear, bright, dark amber colour with a small beige head; aroma of grain, straw, dry nuts; dryish, but not too dry flavour with a long, light bitter finish; better than most brown ales I have had....

Not Stone's best effort, not strong enough on the malt flavours and too bitter to back it up. Stone on kettner SD ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
