Bottle. Chocolate fudge malt and straw aroma. Dark brown with small head. Roasted barley malt, light chocolate, and mildly bitter dry hay flavor. Body on the light side. Tasty.

Nitro keg at the Library Alehouse, Santa Monica, 16/04/14. Light black with a well appointed tan head that retains well. Nose is roast malt, toffee, cardboard, dark berry fruit. Taste comprises cocoa powder, roast malt, hint of liqourice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok dry stout.

Dark brown/black color. Nose has a fair amount of acidity with roasted malts and dark chocolate, a touch sour. Mouth is fairly light, slightly sour and aciditic. Ok balance. Lingering roasty finish. Too thin and sour for my tastes. Though not bad per se, I wouldn’t order again.

Draft - A smooth and easy drinking stout, with a creamy mouthfeel, and a nice balance of roast, intense bitterness, bittersweet chocolate, and smooth vanilla flavors - creamy texture - overall a very enjoyable stout, but I would not pay the bomber price for it.

Draft sample at Epic Brewing taproom, Denver. Pours dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, roast, milk chocolate, lactose and a little nuttiness. Flavour is over moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Batch 4. Pours with a near black hued body and a small tan off-white head. Aromas are of cocoa, dark fruits, fudge, baked bread, iodine and licorice, light ash, a bit intense. Flavors are of dark fruits, light pine like hops, roast, resin, iodine, pine, astringency, some herbalness. Not exactly what I look to drink. Lively carbonation, light acidity, more than light astringency, thin, medium cocoa. Not pleasant. Full carbonation. Not my favorite epic beer.
