The malts rally to a battle cry against the hops in this progressive brown ale. Rich, velvety, nutty, plummy, apricoty and very, very northern.

Bottle. Bier Huis, Ossett. Dark bronze. Light haze. Messy, off white head. Nose has light, toasted malts. Milk chocolate. Some dark fruit. Nicely nutty. Taste is soft sweet. Very light dry, and bitter. Smooth mouthfeel. Soft carbonation to match. Short, nutty dry finish. Very mild like, for me. Good stuff.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Deep amber with a small creamy head. Has some light pale malts on its nose with a palatable smoothness in its texture. Not high on flavour, but there’s an extremely light fruitiness.
