Cask @ Sir Norman Wisdom, Deal. Copper with a creamy-frothy head. Fair hoppiness with light berry-sweet notes, evident in both aroma and taste.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours a dark copper with a small off-white head and good lacing. Malts and autumn fruits combine well in the aroma. Fruits to the fore again in the mouth, berry fruits, red wine gums, plus just a hint of some floral hoppiness on a buttery biscuit base. Finish is slightly bitter. This is a decent traditional bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2022. deep, reddish-copper in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Leafy hops, a touch of brown sugar, red berries, sweet, sightly earthy, malts, leading to a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

On cask at the Haymarket Bar. Appearance - deep amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - caramel and dry biscuit. Taste - more caramel but quickly taken over by the biscuit which is very dry indeed. Astringent, in fact. Palate - close to medium bodied. Sweet in the middle then an astringent finish. Overall - quite challenging.
