Celebrate the amazing architecture, such as the black and white half-timbered buildings and Eastgate clock, that exists in modern-day Chester, which can be attributed to the Cheshire-born, Victorian architect John Douglas. Funded by the wealthy Duke of Westminster, Douglas whose influences came from his travels to France, Germany and Holland, bestowed on Chester an eclectic mix of architectural style including his signature ‘twisted chimneys’.

10/2/2019. Tap at the Brewhouse & Kitchen, Chester. Poured black with a tan coloured head. Aroma of hops, chocolate, roasted malt, citrus, dark fruits, light coffee and pine. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice bitter, chocolate finish. By far the best of their beers on offer on our visit.

Cask @ Brewhouse, Chester [070417]
Black, ruby edges, beige head
Aroma of soft dark roasted malts, dab of citrus
Taste of dark malts, soft roast, dark bitter chocolate, fair amount of bitter hops in there but not that zesty, quite decent
Palate - Medium body, quite bitter, good body. Finish of bitter dark chocolate, roasted malts
Overall - OK, but I prefer BIPAs to have more citrus zest. More like a hoppy stout.

Cask, handpump at Brewhouse and Kitchen, in the company of Dom, Georgia, Baz, Jude and Kay, Chester Friday 17th March 2017 Pours black with a slim beige head. Roasty, fruity, juicy and with dry finish, nice little furry edge, I’m with Craig this is a very decent BIPA. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov16 3.8

Cask @ Brewhouse & Kitchen, Chester. Pours black, minimal tan head. Aroma has some light roast, fading out. Palate is extremely light, watery even, with barely noticeable roasted malt and pine hop. Rather disappointing.
