Our in-house collab with Brussels Beer Project and an innovative take on the Scotch ale style. 13 different grains add layers of complexity with combinations of caramel, toast and tobacco-like notes from peated malt. The roasted and subtle smoked flavours are balanced with honey. Scottish Ale yeast used gives rise to raisin, Dundee cake-like and stone-fruit flavours that works in harmony with the honey to give this beer it's sweetness and warmth.

Not a fan of wee heavies but the honey makes it reasonable

330ml bottle. Pours a deep ruby/amber/copper colour with a beige head. Aroma is smokey, peat, dark/dried fruits. Taste is sweet with dark/dried fruits, smokey, peaty, oaky, notes of chocolate, caramel and honey. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, average carbonation.

Clear deep red - amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth with reasonable fine carbonation. Soft malts, sweetish, rich honey underneath. For me there is a little too much smoke which jars against the honey sweetness. Light floral sweetness and modest spicy dark fruits. Smooth semi dry finish. Interesting beer but the smoke is at a level that reduced drinkability.

On keg at Ushers. Appearance - dark brown with an orange edge to it. Nose - nuts and toffee. Taste - tonnes more praline. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - surely at this strength this should be under Scotch Ale style. Great balance. Very scoopable at 7.8%.

Lively dark red-brown beer, foamy off-white head. Aroma of earthy malt and slightly sour fruit. Flavour has the same qualities, you can taste the honey with some toffee as well. A bit of smokiness going on too.Nice, rich flavour.

Bottle. Ruby body with a medium beige head. Lively carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of honey, smoke and crème brûlée. Flavour of custard, prunes, cigar and Christmas pudding. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. I liked this more as it went on. I found that I had to get used to the beer.
