Bottle from Aldi, Inverurie. It pours clear brown with a medium white head. The aroma is malt - driven, dried berry, caramel, toasted nut, brown bread and fruit cake. The taste is dry, bitter, woody, toasted nut, earth, twig, tannin, spice, stewed black tea and dried fruits with a dry, woody finish. Light+ body and moderate carbonation. Pretty OK, but a bit too drying a woody after a while.

14th July 2017: random tasting session with myself, wife out, dog content. 500ml bottle BB May 18. Lovely looking beer, bright amber body with a deep off-white blanket of bubbly foam. Malty aroma and taste, bit ’thin’ body depth wise, but at 3.5% ABV it has enough flavour and interest to keep me going until the end of the bottle. Liked the late bitterness and the semi-dry finish to each sip/gulp. Live rating, enjoyed it, ideal start to what will hopefully be a good tasting/drinking evening.
