*Old rating from 2008, bottle best before end 2015. Mild-himbeeriges Bier mit feiner Säure. Leichte Holztöne, frisch-süffig, nicht zu säuerlich, nicht zu süß. Mild-fruchtiger, holziger Nachgeschmack mit feiner Säure. Lecker.

Classic fruit beer based on ’oud bruin’, this one with raspberries, since 1985 but unfortunately discontinued when Moortgat took over the Liefmans brand - but I wouldn’t be surprised if it returns one day. Very fruity aroma of fresh, real raspberries and even a hint of raspberry bush, as in the best framboises made with lambic; the maltiness is nicely blended in as well as the woodiness and acidity. Great, elegant and complex beer, of the same profile as Liefmans Kriekbier (now Liefmans Cuvée Brut), just a bit sweeter and more fruit-dominated.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötliches Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr fruchtig, säuerlich. Geschmack säuerlich fruchtig, saure Himbeeren.

Had a bottle that aged for over 10 years. Rich taste of slightly tardy raspberry. Some oak as well.

1995 75cl bottle at the 1st Shrewsbury Bottle Share. Lacked the paper wrapping so was up to us to figure out what this was. Concentrated berry aroma from the off with lots of silky raspberries in the taste and a sleazy wandering port flavour. Rich and seducing this hit the spot nicely.

Dobre smaczne i pachnace ogrodowymi malinami, pierwszy lyk lekko slodki, potem wytrawnosc owocowa. Brazowo czerwone, malo piany, prawie wogole. Testowalem bardzo stara butelke wiec osadu mnostwo, tak jakby martwe spore platy drozdzy plywaly, wygladaly jak fusy w herbacie. Ale wspaniale aromatyczne zwlaszcza to piwo, no i ta fajna bibulka recznie zawijana. Szkoda ze go juz nie produkuja:(

2004 bottle provided by Huhzubendah. Poured a nice raspberry red color with a pink head. Aroma is raspberries, sweetness. Flavor is sweet raspberries. This held up quite well. The finish is sweet raspberries, some light sugar.

Frisk fruktig lukt med preg av friske bringebær, korn, blomster. Fruktig, lett syrlig smak med preg av friske bringebær, grøne epler, gras, korn og litt kalk. Middels bitterhet og lengde. Veldig god.

Bottle (1980s vintage?) at WoSF, shared by Werner et al. It pours deep hazy redddish-brown with a small beige head. The nose is tangy fruit, raspberry, strawberry, lightly acidic and sweet jam. The taste is tangy, sweet-sour aspect, caramel, wood, earth, ice-tea, brown sugar, candy, raisin and grape with a dry, tangy finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Smooth and pretty well balanced. It’s certainly held up well.
