Raging Harpoon is a bigger badder version of its little brother, Happy Harpoon. However, this DIPA boasts an even bigger hoppy punch as it is pumped up with over 3kg of hops per BBL!

It delivers an upfront bitterness followed by a nice warm hoppy finish. What’s not to like about that?

Light haze on this amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light, fairly dry and has decent fine minerally carbonation. Sweetish dry malts, some milky sweetness. Citric hops but with a slightly odd tang. Red berries. Unsweet tropical fruits. Light floralness on the thin semi dry finish. It feels a bit awkward but is not bad by any means.

Bottle. Turner’s, Sheffield. Hazy, copper colour. Film, and a ring, of off white head. Nose has jammy, resinous hop spice. Some marmalade. Smells ok, albeit a little stewed. Taste has an initial sticky sweetness, that turns oily and resinous bitter. Pretty full mouthfeel. Soft carbonation makes for a bit of hard work. Resinous, oily bitter finish. It’s certainly hoppy, but comes across heavy, and overly bitter.
