Big dark chocolate flavour with hints of cherries, liquorice and raisins. Aged in brandy casks for 8 months it's a walk through the Black Forest. Wunderlich!

Bottle from Cooperative Supermarket, Hebden Bridge. Black with no head. Its heavy liquor strength impacts greatly on both its aroma and taste, and subdues most of what could be called chocolate, although its smoothness in the palate is perhaps its most associated characteristic with its name. There is of course a mix of dark and roasted malts with some chocolate evident in its aftertaste.

Bottle. Appearance - opaque black but there’s a distinctive red wine edge to it. Low carbonation. Nose - dark chocolate. On looking for the cherries, they come out in a quite austere form. Not juicy fruit my any means. Taste - dark chocolate again dominant. Hut light fruity boozy notes follow through. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry balanced finish. Overall - a beer you definitely grow into. Good!

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate, dark chocolate, light roast and brandy. Taste is more of the same. Quite rich. Chocolate linger. Liked it.

Opaque dark brown beer, decent tan head. Palate is slightly dry with modest fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, trace of dark chocolate and a very light touch of brandy. An emulsion paint vibe that is not uncommon in some BA beers. A little raisin before a light spicy finish. Nice idea but I want a Brandy BA stout to be richer and more sumptuous than this, it’s a bit lightweight.
