1814 is an authentic Pilsner style lager made with Speyside water, continental and lager malts, an abundance of Czech and German hops, and a genuine Pilsner yeast strain.
Like the bridge for which it was named, 1814 bridges a divide between craft beer fans and lager fans.
Malts: Munich, Lager, Pale Ale
Hops: Lubelski, Tettnang

Bottle from Alesela. It pours clear golden - amber with a small white head. The aroma is sweet, grainy, buttered popcorn, porridge, bread and hay. The taste is crisp, bitter, buttered white bread, grainy, grass, popcorn and cereal with a dry, creamy finish. Light - medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Can’t say I love buttered popcorn in my beer. A pretty basic lager by all accords.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - golden with a thin head. Nose - sweetcorn and light honey. Taste - more of the same. The honey is dominant though. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that is just too sweet. Overall - could be fresher.
