Can thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - luscious milk chocolate with almost raisins too. Taste - more milk chocolate and again dried fruit but this time also hazelnut. Fruit and not bar. Even some caramel. Great. Palate - creamy and medium bodied. Decent taper on the linger. Overall - hugely flavoursome considering it's normal strength.

Can from Aldi. Black body with a thick tan head. Good lacing. Aroma of blackcurrant, coffee and charcoal. Flavour of bramble and cranberry with a bitter finish. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. The label reads American Stout, but really this is a Black IPA.

Cask at Drygate. It pours darkest brown with a medium light tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malts, creaminess, cocoa, coffee grounds and toast. The taste is dry upfront, bitter roasted malts, charred wood, toasted peppercorn, soapy citrus, cocoa and some coffee grounds with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. The touchy of soap detracts from the overall experience. Not bad overall.
