Cask at Floodgate, Stafford Pours black with a small cream head. A simple nose of milk chocolate. In the mouth it has a creamy texture with tastes of dark fruits, chocolate and molasses. The finish is milky with coffee notes. I don’t normally like Kelham Island beers, but this is quite nice.

Cask @ Tap and Can. Pours dark, frothy off-white head. Coffee, woody roast on the nose. Continues to taste, bitter chocolate and coffee dominating with a dry bitter close. Decent.

22nd Nov 2018. Cask half-pint, hand-pulled at The Pheasant Inn, Wellington Shropshire. Ruby coloured brew, tanned foaming head. Coffee and chocolate led the way aroma wise, in the taste also. Semi-sweet, semi-dry. Nice Black Beast!

Black color with a beige layer. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a soft carbonation level. Semi dry ending. Roast, toffee and some licorice in the flavor. Decent

Dark beige head soon left a cover on an oily looking, jet black, still body. Strong malt, caramel & coffee aroma. Medium bodied, very tingly on the palate. A bit thin & crisp on the back but clean. Dry. Malt, brown sugar & coffee to the fore followed by a bitter aft of berries, bitter coffee & slight hints of citrus.

By gravicask, minifest at Murderers in Norwich. A bubbly filmy layer to a jet black body. Toffee aroma, slightly smoked. Chocolate and toffee flavours, hints of liquorice. Mid-sweet malty ending. Pleasing (Shared with Cunningham, 18.02.2017).
