A drinkable platform to explore dark malt! The Blackstone Porter has ample body to support the flavours of chocolate and coffee derived from dark specialty malts. A surprisingly-quaffable session Porter, and the perfect companion to good conversation when the rain is lashing at the windows. Blackstone Porter is available seasonally during the colder months.

650ml bottle bought in BC Liquor store. Cocoa, roasted malt in the aroma and taste. Dark coffee and roasted bitterness at the end. Very good beer!

medium brown color. Creamy brown head that looks like an espresso. Very nice espresso nose with some chocolate notes. Smooth mouth, and I suspect this has been on nitro. Nice stuff

Okay head and modest swampy barley aroma. Flavour of watery coffee and barley. Watery on the mouth. Not too exciting.

Bottle: Poured a black color porter with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt with light dry roasted notes is interesting. Taste is dominated by chocolate malt notes with some dry roasted malt and a dry aftertaste. Body is pretty full for style with nice creamy touch and good carbonation. Not a style that I seek often but this one was enjoyable.

Poured from 650mL bottle (cap printed "bottled Nov 13, 2013"). Dark black, creamy look, full tan head. Aroma is predominantly roast malt and coffee. Taste is the same. Medium body, milky texture, quick finish. Didn’t get any chocolate like some others got, perhaps the fact a significant number of other raters did get chocolate and a significant number of others did not suggests a fair bit of inconsistency between batches.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark red/brown with medium tan head. Strong aromas of cocoa powder and dried coffee grounds with a slight hint of dark fruit. Dry but with a twist. Flavors of burnt malts, espresso, bitter chocolate, and a little cream and licorice.

Bottle from Liberty Wine on Robson St, Vancouver
Black color; generous compact head. Nice coffee aroma, and baking (bread dough) yeast. Dry and lean mouthfeel; roasted malt and coffee flavor; again, some yeast. But overall, a pleasant Porter or Stout.

Near total blackness, with a thin head. Rich chocolate aroma shows sweetness and a hint of dark sugar complexity with lots of nuts and whole grain bread. Soft body, actually lighter than expected. Lots of chocolate and some bread. Cocoa. The palate is perhaps not as developed as the aroma but a good porter.
