33 cl bottle. Pours dark brown with a huge tan head. Aroma is toasted and dark breadish malty. Chocolate malty. Breadish. Dry and slight herbal. Toasted, chocolate andbreadish. Dry and bitter finish.

Gouttes D’Or Why Here? Tourist Session #1: English Black IPA When I got this bottle at the Bewery I knew I’d drink it on the Eurostar as a French made English style black IPA seemed perfect for crossing the channel. It pours black with a big foamy tan head. The aroma is huge chocolate malts, roasty with light candied citrus hop notes. Medium bodied with a fairly smooth mouthfeel. The taste is supremely roasty, acrid dark malts and bitter dark chocolate. Not much hop presence but I was told this was the first in the series and fairly old so I guess the hoppiness has dropped out. Pretty nice.

Black color with a frothy off-white head with good retention. Aroma has roasted notes, light licorice and slightly hoppy. Flavos has a medium bitterness, dominated with coffee and licorice notes, roasted malts as well. Bitterness in the final with good duration.
