Clear dark orange beer, creamy irregular off-white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of citrus fruits, grapefruit, piny and resinous, very hoppy, bit grassy, hint of vegetables. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: grainy malt profile, citrus fruits, bitter resinous hops, bit grassy, zest, very bitter. Aftertaste: very bitter, almost medicinal, dry, grassy hay, grains and malts as well.

Considering the low alcohol it’s quite nice, but there seems to be something missing in this beer. The body is very thin because you miss the fermentation. Some good hops can fix this party, but it remains inferior.

Enjoyed at the 4de Gents Bierfestival, 2013. The 33cl bottle pours with a pale copper to gold body that has a slight haze and supports a light tan head. The aroma pulses with citrus hops, dank onions and rolling into a malty sort of slightly hop resin infused wort note. The taste is similar, which makes me happy, with crisp fresh lemon, lime and grapefruit hop flavor and firm citrus hop bitterness. Behind the citrus notes are bitter onion dank hoppy goodness that really takes this to another level. The 2.5 comes into play as the body is recognized as it is a bit watery but that doesn’t detract from the experience. Damn fine session brew with loads of fresh hoppy flavor and just enough body and residual sweetness to keep it cohesive. Wow, love it!

Bouteille @ 4de Gentse Bierfestival.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ GBF 2013. Clear orange with little bubbles for a head. Nose is surprisingly, wonderfully hoppy, USA hoppy with lots of citrus hops, zesty, slightly floral. Taste is USA citrus hops, bitter lemon, light yeast, touch floral with hay. Supper refreshing. Body is obviously a bit light but nowhere near too light. Super-drinkable. Superb stuff, not only for the alcohol percentage but in general. Thx! to the RB Crew for sharing.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is big grassy hop, leading to a medium to strong bitter flavour, with some liqourice on the somewhat smooth, watery palate. The bitterness in the finish was not so pleasant I have to say. The beer tasted better when it was first poured but then seemed to lose its way quite quickly. Really, that bitterness in the finish isn’t good!
