Bottle as a gift. Hazy almost back deep ruby colour with a thin tan head. Aroma ha nuts, chocolate and roasted bitterness, thats also in the taste. Packs a lot of flavour with a low ABV, but the body is a touch thin.

Almost clear deep brown beer, no head. Palate is light and mildly dry, low carbonation. Thin smooth dark malts, a fair bit of that almost artificial tasting chocolate that so many beers that proclaim chocolate character, end up delivering. Malty chocolate. Touch of dry tangy fruits. Dry finish. So very meh!

Bottle. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma of caramel, chocolate and fudge. Flavour of wood, syrup and toffee. Thin body with a frothy, fizzy mouthfeel. Very good for the strength.

Bottle from Brewer’s Droop, Bristol. Dark brown with a thin, beige, head and moderate carbonation. Pleasant aroma of plain chocolate, toasty malts and a slight fruit cake sweetness. Unsurprisingly a touch light in the mouth, but plenty more character of chocolate and fruit before a dryish finish. An excellent low ABV beer.
