(Cask at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden, London, 26 Nov 2014) Dark red colour with brief, beige head. Malty, spicy nose with caramel, cinnamon, ginger and chocolate. Malty, spicy taste with notes of caramel, chocolate, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and a good spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty, spicy and quite well balanced. Nice one.

500ml bottle at The Mash Tun. Pours clear red brown, thin white head. Aromas of mulling spice and red fruit. Taste is nutty, more spice, cinnamon and clove. Spicy, dry, lingering finish. Thin in the body though.

Cask @ Pot Still and 500ml bottle. Pours deep red with little head. Sweet aroma with cloves and spices. Taste is sweet malt with a heavy dose of Christmas spices. Best Christmas beer I’ve had, and definitely better on cask than bottle

Cask gravity at the Rake. It pours clear mahogany brown with a small white head. The nose is wood, leather, spicy, Xmas pudding, fig, raisin, light caramel and carrot cake. The taste is bitter, wood, light caramel, date, festive spice, toasty, leather and earth with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Smells pretty brilliant and tastes not bad either! Well done spiced Xmas action.

Cask at Cloister’s. Light ruby, huge hit of spices on the nose, Taste is sweet toffee and full of spices, very Christmassy.
