Bottle. Can’t recall where from. Clear, very dark brown. Thin, dense, lasting, tan head. Nose has dry, peppery, roast malts. Fruity hop tingle. Light coffee truffle. Light, red wine tang. Taste is light, tangy bitter. Enough malts to give it some sweetness on the lips. Palate has some spice. Perfect fizz level. Feels full but clean. Finishes clean, and bitter, with a little dryness on the close. Hugely drinkable. Lovely.

330ml bottle picked up at Beermoth, Manchester. Pours opaque black with creamy off-white head. Aroma is liquorice and aniseed. Taste follows with some additional spice, cloves, nutmeg and Christmas cake with a bit of Scottish old ale strength about it. Some more aniseed on the finish. Don’t think I’ve quite had a beer like this.
