Poured at Shelton Festival, hazy orange with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is grass, earth, citrus. Medium body, grass, grapefruit, lingering resin finish, very good.

Bottle from Bridgend Service Station. Murky amber body with a medium off-white head. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of orange marmalade, dried leaves and a hint of bourbon. Flavour of blood orange, wood and tomato juice with a peppery finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture. Soft fizz. I’d have preferred this without the barrel ageing.

29th August 2016
Amarillo, Mosaic & Chinook hops. Should have drunk this a long time ago - BBE May 2016. Lightly hazy amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate starts smooth but there is trailing nibbly carbonation. Light malts, mild creamy sweetness. Nice bourbon - flavoursome but not fierce. Good marmalade on the back end and a little barrel induced vanilla. Finishes with orange peel bitterness and a little bourbon spice. Nice and it’s held up well but it was probably better when the hops were young.

Bottle at Bierboom in Bruges. Oaked IPA apparently, with lacing, thick, off-white, irregular head and amberish light bronze colour, hazy. Unusual but interesting and pleasant aroma of lychee, strawberry, sweet bourbon, vanilla, candied orange, sugared apple, grape peel, dry earth. Some exotic fruits in the onset (lychee, mango) with a sourish accent, full and rounded, smooth mouthfeel, soft carbo, creamy caramelly and toasted malt body, long peppery and earthy hop finish, mildly bittering with lovely retronasal aromas of exotic fruit and citrus peel paired with drying, very effective woodiness, even a tad varnish-like at some points. Another great Weird Beard, original and complex, with a lovely combination of hoppiness and woodiness balanced by fruity and malty sweetness. I love this.

Bottle consumed at Cropredy, Fairports Annual Reunion Festival 2015 Saturday 15th, picked this up at Cotteridge a couple of weeks back. Pours murky amber with a small white head, bourbon rather swamps this somewhat, in fact it’s a decent DIPA obliterated by a misguided BA experiment. Ok. Despite my criticism Loz thought differently to me, Loz liked it. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; cloudy amber pour with a soapy white head, aroma has bourbon along with some winter fruits, taste has loads of berries, blackberry, raspberry and the like, some sherry action, ABV does hit you, some vinous action, inviting.
