Cask half pint at The Howff, Aberdeen. 5.2% ABV. Served at near room temperature. Copper colour, white head, nice lacing. Weak malty aroma, a hint of malt vinegar. A hint of malt vinegar in the flavour too, but the beer is not sour. Definitely malty, a hint of over-ripe dark fruits. No sign of hops in any shape or form. IPA? You must be kidding me! Won’t buy again.

Cask at The Howff, Aberdeen. It pours clear amber with a well appointed white head. The aroma is brown bread, earth, toasted grain, wood and a touch of orange marmalade. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, toasted brown bread, wood, resin, leather, light toffee and orange citrus on the back-end. Medium body and moderate carbonation. More of the old-school "bitter" style IPA, but a decent cask ale anyhow.
