Bouteille 33cl, BB 02/2021.

Bottle. Cloudy orange with a massive white head. Total gusher. At least a third of the bottle went down the drain...Aroma of camomile, citrus fruits and yeast. Taste is yeast, citrus fruits, spices, orange peel, elderberries and of course camomile. Bitter finish. Medium to strong carbonation. Would be quite nice actually if the camomile was a little bit more kept in check.

The second beer commissioned by this chain of interior and untensils shop - which has apparently been added as a brewery here, no idea why that should be the case... Anyway, bottle from the Dille & Kamille shop in Ghent, thanks Goedele! Egg-white, mousy, fairly thick, large-bubbled head over a cloudy peach blonde beer with pale orange hue, turning milky and more ochre-tinged with sediment. Aroma of dried camomile indeed and a lot of it, sweetclover and other field flowers, sweetbread, pineapple, white pepper, dry oatmeal flakes, curcuma powder, banana, sour apple peel, dried 'herbes de Provençe'. Fruity onset, estery notes of apricot, pineapple and light banana, some apple peel, fizzy and minerally carbonation, bread crumb-like, bit powdery and cereally middle, quickly soaked in a strongly forwarded, yet easily palatable floweriness of camomile, sweetish, spicy and a bit 'weedy' in a good way, with some dusty breadiness lingering in the end, along with a very mild grassy hop bitterish touch. Quite distinct and a very different take on the old witbier theme, decidely un-Hoegaarden in that sense, very floral and 'summery' - I can enjoy something like this.

0.33 l bottle from 'Dille & Kamille' (Lige), best before May 2018. Hazy, golden amber with a thin, instantly collapsing, frothy, white head. Sweetish, slightly floral and a bit spicy aroma of chamomile and orange peel. Slightly sweetish, moderately bitter, grainy, slightly floral and a bit spicy taste of chamomile, wheat and a touch of elderflower maybe, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a little tart, moderately spicy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Huge disapppointment, not bad but extremely anaemic, hardly recognizable as a Wit or Kuitbier, don't even get much of the chamomile or the elderflowers, not to speak of the non-existent head. Naeckte Brouwers can do better!

Bottle [from trade with RW80] @ home. A bit unclear pale yellow color, small fizzy and instantly disappearing white head. Aroma holds very little signs of herbs or spices and might even be considered a little citrussy, albeit in the (far) background. Flavor however is a quite big herbs or spices bomb with way too much sweetness. Couldn’t finish the bottle. Not my kind of beer that’s for sure.
