Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, chocolate sauce and heavy cheap cocoa. Flavor is medium sweet. Sweet finish. 050816

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy exstremely powerfull not good choccolate aroma. Light bitter flavor. Strong milkchocolate flavor. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate.

Bottle, 5%. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate ,milk chocolate and a little artificial. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, milk chocolate, artificial, sweet, caramel and a little bitter.

Bottle. Nice head with excellent duration. Color is close to black. Aroma and taste are rich artificial chocolate, roast malt, cocoa, coffee, caramel and hops.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Deep Ruby black colour with an off white head. ChocolTe us the big aroma, but also a touch of coffe and light fruity spice. Taste dominated by bitter chocolate.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe, great artwork on the bottle. Jet black colour like my heart, with a small tan head. Aroma is very chocolatey, equal amounts of milk chocolate and roasted malt. Taste of milk chocolate and roasted malt, also a hit of something similar to chocolate liqueur sweets you get at Christmas. Some bitterness in the finish but overall it’s quite a sweet flavour. Nice mouthfeel, good body. Love chocolate stouts/porters and this is a surprisingly good one.

Bottle, a surprise find at a small shop called London Food Centre on the Gray’s Inn Road, London. Pours dark brown with a beige colour head. Delicious and big chocolate aroma. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Aroma definitely the highlight.

While Day of the Dead beers can be found all over the place I’ve only seen this beer (Necromancer) at Tricolore in Kobe. This 5% Chocolatl Stout has a pretty amazing nose that evokes memories of Nestle Kwik Chocolate Milk & chocolate chips. Damn a beer for my childhood? If the taste lives up to this I’ll be kicking myself for not buying more. Fairly full bodied with a round raspy carbonation. The taste is chocolate & chili pepper but I am guessing is pure chocolate beans though the Japanese label says it is chocolate extract. If you like chocolate this beer won’t disappoint. Considering everything I’ve had from them has been meh this is a pleasant surprise though I suspect some would say this is too chocolate like & not enough like a beer. Personally I don’t care as I love chocolate.

Bottled@SBWF2015. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, and that’s about it. Flavour is chocolate, some malts, vegetables and mild herbs. Aftertaste is mainly artificial chocolate.
