The flagship pale ale brewed exclusively for Edinburgh speakeasy-style bars, Nauticus, Panda & Sons and Hoot the Redeemer, until now has only been available on draft. This delicious no-nonsense pale ale with Citra and Cascade hops has proved so popular we've put some in cans.

I was told this beer was made exclusively for Panda & Sons once I got speaking to one of the staff at the waiting to be seated stand at the venue once through the less than obvious door. It seems there's a can version also floating about. It's such a good light citrus session brew it deserves wider appeal anyway.

Can at Foodstory, Aberdeen. It pours murky golden with a decent white head. The aroma is fresh, zingy, candied citrus, orange, lime, marmalade, some ripe stone fruits, rich tea biscuits and sponge cake. The taste is firmly dry, pleasing bitterness which lingers throughout, floury bread, biscuity malt, tangy citrus, pithy, zesty, waxy, lemon, lime, tangerine peel, fresh pine and some green vibes with a lingering bitter, drying finish. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. A rustic, but enjoyable APA.

Can from Cork & Cask. Hazy deep golden body with an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of biscuit, orange peel and brown bread. Flavour of lightly roasted malt, dried herbs and dried orange peel. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Maltier than I expected. A tasty pale.

Keg at Panda & Sons, once I found the bastard. Pours hazy gold, thin white head, nice lacing. Aromas of lemon, lime, grapefruit, big on the citrus action. Taste is light sweet, bitter at the back. Clean finish. Good stuff.
