En afrundet porter med en frugtig bitterhed. Øllets sorte farve kommer fra den ristede bygmalt, og smagen er blommeagtigt mørk med runde chokoladedybder. Skummet er tykt, stabilt og lyst nougatfarvet, og konsistensen fyldig og cremet. Udover blomme og chokolade, har duften noter af mørk karamel, rosiner, en snert af mokka og en balanceret bitterhed.

500 ml bottle, batch #1379, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.5%. Nearly black colour, moderate tan head. Pleasant aroma of roast malts, mild coffee and dark chocolate, hints of liquorice and smoke. Moderate carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel and flavour, notes of roast malts, coffee, chocolate and liquorice again, some vinous hints, also a hint of smoke. Moderate hops. Very good beer.

F: huge frothy long lasting beige. C: dark as a night. A: malty mostly, chocolate, dark fruit, hint of coffee. T: nice roasted malt, spelt wheat, coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, raisin, cocoa, hint of liquorice, Tabaco, some hint of hop, cane sugar, medium body, average carbonation, very good beer and porter.

Had@CPH BF 2013. Deep brown colour with a beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolate, some mild floral notes as well as mild ashes, liquorice and some slight spicy/yeasty notes. Flavour is spicy, liquorice, some slight ripe fruits, mild raisins as well as quite nicely roasted and chocolaty. Wellbalanced, and a good sipper.

Bottle from Magasin du Nord, Copenhagen. Pours reddish dark brown with small creamy beige head. Medium carbonation. Initial fruity smell that quickly disappears. Taste is sweet with a short medium bitter finish, aroma of roasted coffee, sweet ripe grapes.

Can at Deans impromptu Monday night tasting. Poured a murky dark brown with a frothy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt light yeast. The flavour is medium bitter with a creamy caramel malt hop bitter palate and short bitter finish. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Medium beige head. Clear deep dark brown body. Earthy roasty candy aroma with fluffy sugary bubblegum notes. Sweet roasty earthy coffee taste with fruity bubblegum notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, slightly flat mouthfeel. Sweetish earthy roasty mealy aftertaste with coffee and syrup notes. Nice, drinkable, balanced. Perhaps a little bit boring, but OK. (0.5l bottle, from Toft Vin, Copenhagen.)
