Bottle that I picked up from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium June 2010, consumed at Shrewsbury Folk Festival 29.08.10 Pours dark, dark brown with a tan head. Really tasty beer, with loads of roastiness, dark chocolate and general bitterness, fair bit of coffee sluishing about as well. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Huge, extremely dense dark-greige head over near-black beer. Coffeeish nose, with a flair of cigarleaf and speculoos (if a bit overdone, that one), very roasted. Bitter chocolate, coffee, coffeecream, Café Noir cookies, and a bit of Haagse Hopjes - but these with REAL hops (pun intended, sorry). Very slick, smooth, and warming. Alcohol obvious; creamy texture thanks to the persistent head. Another good I.S. - but nothing more.

Pours a black beer, no head, just a dark beige small rim agains the glass. Smells very smoked, wood, oily and coffee. Taste is somewhat bittersweet caramel which ends in coffee. That's pretty much the only thing that is left in the aftertaste. Burnt (not roasted) malts. If I want this, I can just drink some strong cold coffee.
