A sweet stout fermented with Belgian ale yeast. Eight different malts along with Muscavado sugar create multiple flavours all at once - chocolate, mocha, fruitcake, dried fruits, coffee, treacle, and molasses, to name but a few. Well worth spending some time over.

Keg at Andrew Usher’s. Opaque black body with a lasting beige head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of berries, coffee, wood and burnt toast. Flavour of ash, chocolate, blueberries and roasted malts. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Wonderful depth and drinkability.

Keg at Ushers. It pours jet black with a sturdy tan head. The nose is soft, sweet, rich roast, pepper, coffee, umami, salted liquorice, cocoa and spicy Belgian yeast. The taste is bitter, dark roast, molasses, treacle, peppery spice, Eccles cake, coffee cake, dried fruits and liquorice with a slick finish. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and smooth mouth-feel. Good depth, well rounded and rather quaffable. Good stuff.
