Bottle from Surrey Wine Cellar, Chobham. Floral tinged resin aroma. Dark and glossy, dark brown tints in the light. Thick creamy beige head. Initially a light bitter/umami. Then more bitterness kicks in. Malty with almost salt liqourice and spices when it gets going. Thick bodied. Creamy. Light fizzy carb. Low key finish. Restrained but in this case it's a positive. Well balanced. A black IPA verging on a hoppy stout. Pleasant.

Bottle from Inn at Home, Guildford. Pours black with a lasting beige to grey head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, floral hops, dark fruit, thistle, leather and resin. Light sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Finish is dry and becomes sweeter.

Cask at the Finborough Arms - London. Pours murky, deep amber with a frothy off-white head. Some piney hops in the nose, toasted malts. Medium sweet flavor with ripening fruit character, mild roast and cocoa, slight bitter earth, dried berries and pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Moderately resinous on the finish, with more ripe citrus, toasty bread, slight grain and berries. An OK CDA.

Bottle from Jacks (Westholme Stores) Goring on Thames, Oxon, consumed at home Sunday 17th May 2015 Very dark brown with a small filmy head. Hoppy on the aroma with a little roastiness. Really tasty like a black IPA, I am guessing it is a black IPA (though not sure what the style is meant to be) A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
