Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, it seems best before March 4, 2016, oops. Opaque reddish medium brown with small beige head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium body, lower carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is herbal hops, caramel malt, resin, and bitter finish.

This double IPA poured a nice caramel colour with a huge light tan head. Scents include ripe fruit, malt, butane? and citrus. First swig was smooth and creamy. Malty smoothness with lots of hop on a nice malty base. A little caramel in there too... Finish is bitter with hops lingering...

Pretty solid IPA. Lots of citrus and good malt backbone. Some pine. Quite the bitter finish. Brown amber pour with decent head and lacing. Very hoppy. Bottle from Glen’s.

12 oz bottle, 02/12/15 bottling date. Pours a coppery amber with a ton of coarse suspended particles. Grapefruit and orange citrus aroma with a little berry. Citrus hoppy flavor, some herbal flavor, with a bit of sweetness and a nice bitterness.
