Bacchus Flemish Old Brown surprises with a taste reminiscent of wine and offers a beautiful balance between sweet and sour. This beer impresses through both its sourness and the slight touch of caramel brought by the roasted malt. However, its sourness is less pronounced than the sourness of other Flemish red-brown beers. Therefore, Bacchus Flemish Old Brown is a very refreshing beer with a pleasant aftertaste. A beer full of character and history!

A: cherry, jam, fruit cake, Cola, gingerbread.
T: sweetish cherry & unripe red apple, sourish berry, jam.
F: tart cherry, herbal Cola.
P: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
Very much old-school, but sympathetic.

Klare rötlich bräunliche Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Weinartiger, fruchtiger, hopfiger Geruch. Geschmacklich ebenso weinartig, hopfig, fruchtig mit Grapefruit und etwas Citrus. Leicht süß mit hoher Bitterkeit, leichter bis mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Cool bottle wrapped in paper. Dark brown pour with 3cm head. Can smell the dark malts from 1m away. Nice nose: sweet creamy coffee, toffee, Candi sugar, cola, raisin, tartness. Unlike any sour I had til now. The sourness is balanced by a slight sweetness and the dark flavours from the nose. Mild sour apple tartness with a dark but mild malt backing. Interesting

Bottle, 0.375l. Aroma is vinous, musty, funky, leathery and dried fruity. Pours clear dark brown color with thin quickly diminishing tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts medium sweet caramelly and tart citrusy, following is vinous, dried fruity and yeasty with smooth mouthfeel. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Sweet & sour suitable for every hour…

Bottle, 0.375l. Deep brown/red pour, half finger soapy off-white head, short lasting. Minimal lacing on the glass. Sour and fruity nose, ripe berries, citric acid, mild woody and sweet notes in the background. Light to medium body, lively carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture, light sticky, moderately fizzy. Sour and tart taste balanced with subtle sweetness in the background. Aroma of sour cherries, caramel malt, citric acid. Vinegar, plum, some nutty notes. Woody. Sugary stickiness, mild seeet touches. Medium lasting finish, tart, sticky, slightly dry. Ok.
