UK hop pale. Brewed to showcase a hop that we helped develop, and in fact named – Olicana, after the Roman settlement that became Ilkley. Although from UK stock, this hop punches with the best the USA can grow and has huge grapefruit and citrus flavour.

Gravity cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Mid to dark gold, very clear, just a bit of natural carbonation. Grapefruit aroma with a surprising side note of leather. Taste starts savoury, almost Bovril-y, then rounds to a basic bittersweet golden ale. The finish is exceedingly dry. A changeable beast this, and all the better for it.

Leeds Beer Festival. Golden with a small head. It is malt based but has a fruity hop kick.
