Fles 33cl thuis. Koffie, zoetje, roasted malts, chocolade, droog, bitters, laurier, klein beetje dun. Niet slecht voor 4% Stout. (18-2-2018).

330 ml bottle. Almost pitch black color, soft carbonation that died fast. Aroma shows subtle chocolate, light roast, yeast. Flavor is really light. Weak roast, mild chocolate, and caramel candy notes. My major complaint is the thin watery body. If they added oats or somethings to thicken this body it would help greatly.

On cask at the Castle Tavern, Inverness. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - liquorice and roast. Chocolate at the back. Taste - more of the same. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a very elegant finish. Overall - great example of the style. Lovely.

Bottle from the Co-Op, Nairn. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Patchy lacing. Aroma of charred wood, plum and coffee. Flavour of plum, raisin and treacle. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. The ABV and body is light but there’s good depth of flavour here.

Bottle from Bottle Cap Beer Shop. It pours darkest brown, near black with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, earthy roast, liquorice, dull smoke, light treacle and some ash. The taste is quite light, earthy roast, burnt toast, liquorice, lightly ashy, plain chocolate and earth with a dry, toasty finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. Simple low abv stout. Not too bad, if a little pedestrian.
