Bottle from the brewery online shop. Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Beige head. Nose - dark chocolate, light smoke and molasses. You can find the orange but only because you are expecting it and go looking for it. Taste - as per the nose. Palate - medium bodied, tangy and light roasty on the finish. Overall - good, but marmalade extremely subtle.

500ml bottle fresh from the brewery, best before June 2021. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is roasty malt, medicinal floral. The flavour is sour, with a yeasty, medicinal infected palate. Awful. Undrinkable. Poured it down the drain. Bottle stored correctly and carefully poured.

28/12/2019. Bottle shared at the Suffolk RateBeer gathering. Direct from the brewery. Pours almost black with a beige head. Aroma of orange marmalade, burnt chocolate, ash, tobacco, roasted malt, fruit, berries. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, moderate tartness. Medium body, oily watery texture, above average carbonation. Ashy, dry finish. Interesting but not particularly enjoyable.

Clear deep amber - brown beer, tiny pale tan head. Palate is light, semi dry and a little crisp. Very mild dark malts with whisoer of chocolate and lactose. Light orangey tang before the light dry finish. Marmalade coming to the fore in the aftertaste. Tasty if a bit thin.
