This beer is all about the hops, we’ve ramped up the malt bill to bring the ABV to 6.8%, and crammed in bucket loads of bold new world hops including Columbus, Simcoe and Citra, bringing the bitterness to a substantial 109 IBU. There is more to this beer than bitterness though, with hop additions timed to extract big flavours like citrus fruits, juicy tropical notes and a resinous pine quality, this is one for those who like their beer bold and packed full of taste.

Keg from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a thin beige head. No carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of pine, boozy peach and lemon sponge. Flavour is very hoppy and bitter. Notes of resin, caramel and blood orange. Long finish. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. A decent, bitter IPA, but lacking in complexity.

Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, tiny pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Light but bitter marmalade and citrus peel. Trace of lemon. Thin malts underneath. Citrus turns a little sweeter before a semi dry and crisp finish. Peel bitter lingers on. Decent.
